Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (Visitor) (Subclass 976)

You must be the holder of a passport from a designated country before you may be eligible to apply for either an ETA (Visitor) (subclass 976). To check if you are the holder of a passport from a designated country please click here.

You can obtain an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) Visa to enter Australia. An ETA will be issued electronically over the internet and entitles you to multiple visits to Australia for up to 3 months during any 12 month period.

You may be eligible to apply for either an ETA (Visitor) (subclass 976) if you are the holder of a passport from one of the following countries :

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Brunei
  • Canada
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Greece
  • Hong Kong SAR
  • Iceland
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan

eVisitor (subclass 651)

If you are the holder of a passport from the European Union you may be eligible to apply for an eVisitor (subclass 651). You may be eligible for this visa if you wish to travel to Australia as a tourist or for business purposes. Business purposes include participating in negotiations or a conference, or for initial business market research.
